Lawrence Silverman, EVP, graduated from the National Tax Practioners Institute as a Fellow after completing a three-year complex and intensive program. Mr. Silverman attends training each year which is provided by the American Academy of Tax Practice. In May 2013, he was their Ethics instructor at their training session held in New Orleans, LA.

Mr. Silverman was quoted in the June 20, 2004 edition of the Boston Sunday Globe, regarding the marriage penalty and how married taxpayers that filed jointly for their 2003 tax returns, actually paid less tax than in prior years.

Mr. Silverman was later quoted in an article in the June 15, 2006 U.S.NEWS & WORLD REPORT at www.usnews.com regarding the Kiddie Tax, explaining the lack of use and benefit to it by parents as it is not really the kid’s money, but a way for the parents to avoid tax.
